Spaghetti Bolognaise!

We all seem to have our own way of cooking Spaghetti Bolonaise, but here is my reciepe. I hope you all enjoy it as much as I do.

You will need:

  • 225g/8oz minced beef
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 onion, peeled and finely chopped
  • 1 green pepper, seeded and finely diced
  • 1 clove garlic, peeled and crushed
  • 125g/4oz smoked bacon
  • 1 tbsp mixed dried herbs
  • 400g/14oz tinned tomatoes
  • Mushrooms
  • 150ml/5fl ozred wine
  • salt and pepper

Preparation method

  1. Heat a non-stick frying pan and add the mince. Cook over a high heat to colour the meat, breaking up any lumps with the back of a fork. Depending on the type of mince you have bought you may need to drain off any fat.
  2. Heat the oil in another large pan and cook the onion, and green pepper until they start to soften.
  3. Stir in the garlic, bacon and the herbs and cook for 2 minutes.
  4. Stir in the chopped tomatoes and the wine and season well with salt and pepper.
  5. After 5 minutes add the mushrooms.
  6. Add the mince and stir the mixture together. Simmer gently for 30-40 minutes until thick.
